History

H. Paniagua is a family company founded in the second half of the nineteenth century by Pablo Paniagua García in, at the outset, the village of Porto Eguas in the northwest of the province of Ourense. Porto Eguas played an important strategic role at the level of local trade in that it linked O Ribeiro, Galicia’s main wine producing area, to O Carballiño, a town which was at the time developing rapidly thanks to a burgeoning commercial activity.

Given the favourable reception that its products were receiving, after a few years the company moved to O Carballiño, where a house and cellar were built to accommodate the family business. Subsequently, towards the end of the twentieth century, the new facilities which now house the business were commissioned.

detalleThe company’s greatest asset, however, lies in the skills and the knowledge handed down from generation to generation through to the present time. It is thanks to these that the company has won a reputation endorsed by the quality and tradition of its products.
